A comparison of two poems on birds

A comparison of two poems on birds In literature, nature has always been considered an important issue. As a natural object, the birds have been mentioned in poetry. In fact, many poets have many beautiful poems about animals. Birds are often used as symbols in the poem. For example, in Bangla literature of the cuckoo bird is often associated with spring. In English literature there are many poems written about birds and birds play an important role in poems. For example, Ode to a Nightingale, John Keats and Ode to a Skylark by PB Shelly are two well-known poems about birds. Another such is the poem Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, in which the poet has the albatross as a symbol. According to the requirement of the assignment I Ode to the Nightingale "by John Keats and the Rime of the Ancient Mariner by STColeridge for my discussion. Before on the two poems above, you need to shed some 'light on the two poets and romantic English literature as a whole. The romance of English literature is a unique time, because at this age all the poets, their poems on the themes of nature and of nature. Nature is the most important aspect of their poetry. Before you can think of no poet of nature, as the main topic of a poem. The Romantic poets have successfully implemented this. Consequently, all the great poems were written about animals in this age group. John Keats was a Romantic poet, who loves the beauty of nature in his poetry. Natural objects are alive and well in his poem does not treat as objects of natural life. Rather, it has stirred the emotions and creates a personal investment with them.He also expressed his personal feelings such as joy, sadness, hope and disappointment, etc., in his poems. In Ode to a Nightingale Keats has expressed a desire to escape from a harsh reality that can not tolerate. He wants the nightingale and fly in a dreamland. On side STColeridge touches the supeatural elements of nature, and is in a very natural way. Coleridge had a brilliant sense of imagination and with his excellent narrative skills, he could have imagined that the supeatural, and then to describe what is in the most natural way. In The Rime of the Ancient Mariner Coleridge, the lives of sailors who were killed had an albatross suffered enormously, and then kill them. The whole poem is based on the reaction of killing of the albatross. A bird is a beautiful creation of God and the killing of the Albatross for any reason, the Mariner has had a serious sin against god.Only on the twentieth century, men have leaed to fly like a bird, before the aircraft was discovered Aero men have always fascinated the idea of how a bird flies. According to Greek mythology, Daedalus and Icarus tries to imitate the birds and artificial wings to fly. Their efforts are not in the tragedy. Thus, the concept of flight was like a dream for mankind until the beginning of the twentieth century, people were surprised by the birds because they fly in the sky. Poets of the question also to appreciate their heads and wanted to fly with them. We see this type of invitation to Keats? Ode to a Nightingale. The life of John Keats was a tragedy he died very young from an illness. He also had a depressing crush on a woman, that he does not succeed, but only misery and in his time, some influential literary critics criticized his poetry in the worst possible way. So life is very unfortunate for John Keats. All his life he tried to escape from suffering and the Ode to a Nightingale, are desperate efforts to escape from a Keats hard cruel world around him. He believes that the nightingale is a lot of luck can fly away from anywhere. Earlier this poem by the poet to his miserable condition: my heart the pain, feeling of numbness and drowsiness painsMy feel as if I had drunk the Hemlock, or emptied some dull opiate to the drainsOne last minute, and Leth-stations were sunk : Here it is clear that the poet has suffered a lot, when he wrote this poem. Life has become very painful for him, he feels as if he were drunk or Hemlock opium. He wants to forget all that pain and happy in the happiness of nightingale. For Coleridge, the albatross is not the escape, but a sacred and beautiful creation of God. " It brings joy to mariners. The sailors are too many lonely days in the lake during its jouey. And very often feel alone and do not miss the opportunity to see a sign of life around them by day: Finally, a cross Albatross,   Thorough the fog it came;   As if it were a Christian soul,   We celebrated God name.So an albatross when they feel happy and confident that the country is close to them. The same has happened to the crew of the ancient mariner. When he saw the albatross that was received with joy and gave him food and played with him. Indeed, the company albatros for them. With the arrival of the albatross, could escape the harsh loneliness that surrounds them. Coleridge is this bird, as a friend and companion men. Both the poems are very clever symbolism. Coleridge the technology is ready, the suspension of disbelief in which the reader forget the real world and the world believe that the poet presents the Real. The plot of the poem centers around the idea of sin-suffering-pray-salvation. E 'a poem with a moral. The first sailor a sinner and has suffered for it. After much suffering, he prayed to God and God will forgive him. The Mariner's leaed his lesson and told others to show love and goodness of the creation of God albatross symbolizes Jesus Christ. Mariner killed the innocent bird, that the company and hope for him and his fellow sailors: And a good wind shift to the south behind;   The following Albatross   And every day, for food or play   Came to the Mariner Hollo! Similarly, the people of Jerusalem, Christ crucified, who was innocent, and those who hope for their salvation. The remaining sailors felt horrified when they found that the Mariner killed the Albatross And I just had a hellish thing,   And 'em woe:   For all averred, I had killed the bird   This was the wind blowing.   Ah wretch! said, to kill the bird,   This is the wind blowing! Normally, the singing of the nightingale is a symbol of joy and happiness. But Keats wrote this poem, when suffering too much form his illness. Although Nightingale has happiness knew in his heart that he will die soon. Moreover, symbols of death and oblivion in this poem. Keats has on numerous occasions in Greek mythology. In so doing, he treated the nightingale in a way, as if it is a magical bird that was beyond the scope of any sadness. Then the bird is magical and free of human suffering. Keats wished that he could, because all the beats and the pain and sadness. In his search for the end of pain, he is like the Buddha. Buddha his whole life trying to find a way to be free from human suffering and redemption. Keats has the same goal, and in this his poetry nightingale has this magical power problem is that Keats knows that he is a man and can not nightingale. In as "Ode to a Nightingale" Keats tries to balance between thought and feeling . We will find extraordinary sensual passages, as at the beginning. Through the use of the word "sense" and makes the reader think that this feeling drowsy numbness after too.The poet addresses issues of human life, as in three verses: "Here where men sit and hear each other groan ;   Where Palsy shakes a few, sad, last gray hairs,   When young people grow pale, and specter-thin and dies;   When to think, but it is full of pain. "Unlike Keats, Coleridge uses the moral teachings of Christianity in the Rime of the Ancient Mariner. It has a lot of value to the concept of sin and salvation. In fact, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is like a fairy tale, which at first seems to be a child without a history deep meaning, but a closer look makes the reader knows that the deepest moral. The moral teaching of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner is: He prays best who loves best   All things that are big and small;   For the love that God loves us,   All.Christianity He loves and teaches us the same thing to love God and his creations. No other religion is so much emphasis on this type of love. The Albatross has this love for the sailors, with joy and happiness. So is the Albatross in a magical bird. And 'the bird that brings luck and a pleasant wind sailor. The old sailor was selfishly and brutally killed by it. He thought only of his own happiness. He did not even believe that he is killing an innocent bird without a reason. He is not the lack of food security, but is devoid of quality. He has forgotten that it is God who has been stronger than anyone else. Certainly not, as God, who had killed the bird without reason.God Mariner has shown that no matter how much power they held a man should not be bad by nature. If not, then humanity would be punished. The punishment that the Mariner has suffered terribly. He suffered the worst form of pain, loneliness and isolation. In nature human beings are social animals, so that only one boat in a sea was certainly terrible thing to suffer. He often wished he was dead, but did not curse happenAn orphan who drag to hell   A spirit from above;   But oh! more terrible than   It is the curse of a Dead Man's eye!   Seven days, seven nights, I saw that curse,   And yet I could not die.Only after Mariner realized his sin and prayed to God for forgiveness was profoundly saved. The same time I could pray;   And from my neck so free   The albatross fell off and sank   As the lead in his personal life sea.In Coleridge was not a very religious person, but in this poem he glorifies Christianity in a way very high. Christianity always ask his supporters that I am God? S forgiveness every day. If a person prays from the center of his heart, God is always ready to forgive him. The poem also shows Coleridge? S deep love for his country, England. When the Mariner of his retu jouey to England, he felt that he heavenOh! Dream of joy! This is actually   The light-house top I see?   And 'This is the hill? And 'This is the church?   E 'questo il mio countree? In summary we can say that the two poems are among the largest birds in the poem in English literature. Poets are the birds, such as icons and are connected with their lives. Birds are magical, but it is something more than magic. They take us into another world, a world ideal and dreamy. The main difference between the two poets is the nightingale that seems to be something in the sky with John Keats, and has no relationship to daily life, but it is something outside of our normal life. On the other hand, the albatross of S.T. Coleridge is something in relation to our daily lives. The crew fed and played with him. It 'was like his only friend in an' infinite sea.SM Mehdi Hasan writes regularly
